Florida Real Estate Pre-Licensing Education (63 Hours)

To qualify for a Florida real estate sales associate license, the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) requires successful completion of a 63-hour Pre-Licensing course from an approved provider.

Hours Required by the State:

• 63 hours of FREC-approved Pre-Licensing education

Reporting:
The state does not require schools to report Pre-Licensing course completions. Students must submit their certificate of completion with their license application.

Course Expiration:

Upon course completion, an electronic certificate of completion is immediately available for download in your student dashboard. You should keep this certificate for your licensing application and personal records.

Pre-Licensing Final Exam Requirements:

• A minimum score of 70% is required to pass the final exam.
• If you do not pass, you must wait at least 30 days from the date of the original exam to retest.
• You may retest one time within one year of the original exam date.
• If both attempts are unsuccessful—or if more than one year passes—you must retake the full course before becoming eligible to test again.

Florida Real Estate Sales Associate Post-Licensing Education (45 Hours)

Florida requires all newly licensed real estate sales associates to complete 45 hours of Post-Licensing education within 18–24 months after obtaining their initial license.

All Post-Licensing courses must be completed and reported to the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) before your license expiration date. Please allow enough time for both course completion and reporting to avoid your license going inactive.

Post-Licensing Final Exam Requirements:

• A minimum score of 75% is required to pass the final exam.
• You may take the exam twice.
• If both attempts are unsuccessful, you must retake the full course before attempting the exam again.

Florida Real Estate Continuing Education (CE – 14 Hours Every 2 Years)

Florida real estate licensees must complete 14 hours of Continuing Education every two years. Your renewal deadline will fall on either March 31 or September 30, depending on your license cycle.

Hours Required by the State:

• 14 total hours of Continuing Education, including:

• 6 hours – Mandatory topics (Core Law, Ethics, and Business Practices)
• 8 hours – Elective topics

CE Final Exam Requirements:

• Final exams must be passed with a minimum score of 80%.
• CE final exams may only be taken once.
• If the exam is not passed, you must re-enroll and retake the entire course, including the final exam.
